AllergyEasy Immunotherapy Serum

Does the program work well for children?
Yes! AllergyEasy's program works especially well for children. Nearly painless testing and shot-free administration of serum drops allow us to safely and successfully treat children as young as infants. That's a big improvement over standard allergy shot programs, most of which require children to wait until age 7 for treatment.

Are oral drops scientifically proven?
Yes!  In the world-renowned Cochrane Review, a meta-analysis reviewed 22 studies involving 979 patients on sublingual immunotherapy and concluded that sublingual immunotherapy is a safe treatment which reduces symptoms and medication requirements in allergic rhinitis. This is just one of dozens of studies conducted worldwide establishing the safety and efficacy of SLIT.

SLIT is endorsed by the World Health Organization and the ARIA guidelines (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma).  In addition, our clinical studies show that more than 80 percent of allergic patients and more than 90 percent of asthmatics report symptom relief within the first few months of using AllergyEasy.

What does the serum taste like?
The liquid has a slight taste, a bit like diluted Chloraseptic, but not enough to be bothersome. Most patients, even young children, are unfazed by the taste.

Are there any risks or side-effects?
Oral allergy drops are extremely safe. There has never been a significant, life-threatening reaction as a result of oral allergy drops. In fact, they are safer than allergy shots which carry a risk of life-threatening anaphylactic reaction.

When was sublingual immunotherapy (under-the-tongue serum drops) developed?
Sublingual immunotherapy was developed over 60 years ago. It is widely used throughout the world and is especially popular in Central Europe where more than 50 percent of patients receiving allergy immunotherapy use drops rather than shots.

How long does it take to see results?
The vast majority of patients experience marked symptom relief within the first few months of starting treatment. Many patients see improvement in as little as a few weeks.

Will insurance cover the cost of the serum?
Most insurance plans do cover the cost of allergy testing and associated physical examinations/office visits. The actual sublingual serum (allergy drops) is not as widely covered. However, it is likely that it will be in the near future. In the meantime, most patients find that it is cheaper to pay cash for allergy drops than to pay the actual co-pays for allergy shots!  Not having to drive to the doctor’s office for shots is an added time and money saver.

I’m going on vacation. Can I take the serum with me?
Yes! AllergyEasy's oral serum drops are ideal for frequent travelers. The serum's portability and self-administration allow you to maintain desensitization while on the road. And if you are traveling by air, our dropper bottle is less than 3 ounces and, therefore, complies with current TSA regulations.

I’m moving. Will the serum still protect me in a new place with different allergy sources?
Yes! Our drops are extremely comprehensive and designed to protect you from the most common allergens from around the world. So whether you are in Arizona or New York, Dublin or Sydney, you can expect full allergy protection.

How do the oral drops work?
With shots, oral drops are injected into the bloodstream. With oral drops, they are placed under the tongue where they can be easily absorbed into the bloodstream.

What are the allergy drops made of?
They are made of the most common antigens found in the environment (the things you breathe in on a daily basis) in a liquid saline solution. They are all-natural!

Will oral serum drops interfere with my other medications?
Not at all. Think of the drops as a liquid form of all the same airborne antigens you breathe in on a daily basis. Because it is an all-natural product, it won’t interfere with any other medications a patient may be taking.

Do the allergy drops work for food allergies?
There is often a strong link between environmental and food allergies. Thus, when patients receive treatment for environmental allergies, they often find that their food allergies fade away, too. If you would like specialized testing for food allergies, most AllergyEasy clinics can offer this service and can discuss treatment options with you based on your test results.

What if I'm pregnant? Can I still take the allergy drops?
Since the drops are all-natural (made up of the same things you breathe in when you are outside), they pose no risks to pregnant women or their unborn babies. They are also safe for nursing mothers.

I wasn't allergic as a child. Why did I suddenly develop allergies?
Allergies can occur anytime from infancy to old age. Don’t be too surprised if the body suddenly decides to overreact to its environment.

Can the AllergyEasy program cure my allergies for good?
It can commonly take three to five years to "re-train" the immune system. After this point, some patients are able to stop taking the drops for life without relapse. Others stay on a basic maintenance dose to stay allergy-free.

Are there any health conditions that would prohibit me from taking the allergy serum?
No. Because the drops are an all-natural extract of the antigens in the environment that you encounter on a daily basis, there are virtually no risks or contraindications associated with the AllergyEasy program.
